Celebrating 90 years of

“The Famous Glengour”

A classic 40 foot Ketch with a History and a Future

Designed by W G McBryde and launched on the Clyde from the yard of James Adam & Sons in June 1934, Glengour has been turning heads for nine decades.  Her distinctive design combines practicality with grace to provide delightful cruising in comfort and style.  One of a kind, Glengour is evocative of a bygone Era but holds her place well in the 21st Century.  There are not many of her like remaining in such good order and still looking majestic.
Glengour looks stunning in sunshine in Crinan Harbour.

UFFA FOX writing in 1937:

"There is no doubt that McBryde has produced a wonderful little vessel in Glengour."

"...after the day's sail and the haven reached and one is in the saloon with the owner and his wife, one feels that the contentment and rest not only comes from the comfort found on board, but also from the fact that Glengour has made her harbour under sail, and her all-round ability makes one feel that the owner is happy and contented with his ship."
