Yacht Glengour 1934
Sailing By - even in light airs
Glengour has an extensive uncluttered traditional teak laid deck.
Heeled over - the gentle camber of the deck comes into its own providing a balanced platform for a strolling up the weather side.
When anchoring the hydraulic windlass and a deck wash make for an easy life. Pretty essential with a reassuring 60lb CQR anchor.
Magical to feel a 1934 "museum piece" come alive in a breeze !
Glengour under sail in 2024....
....off Crinan 1 & 1/2 mins
The aft deck has 2 box seats & an aft bench seat
Wide side decks to access wheelhouse & foredeck
Bird's Eye View - with such a slender profile it is no wonder Glengour cuts through the water with grace and is such a joy to sail.
The Ketch Rig is powerful yet easy to handle and very versatile...
Thinking about reefing - it's time to do it!
Glengour has traditional deep reefs in the main but if a "big blow" is in the offing an option with the ketch rig is to drop the main altogether. Glengour will power on nicely under just jib and mizzen. Time to retreat to the wheelhouse and sail the boat from the warm!

The jib now has a Profurl Classic roller reefing system which makes for much easier sail handling.

The mizzen is a handy wee sail.
At anchor it can be quite appealing to keep the mizzen up and sit steady to the breeze, especially on a lunch or lazy afternoon stop in a tight corner.
KETCH RIG - main mast stands 42 ft above deck, mizzen 28 ft
Glengour is surefooted and creams through the water with amazing speed and ease. Very much aided by her clean underwater profile, long waterline of 35ft and slender 10ft beam.
Sailing better than ever in 2024 with a new jib to match her mainsail from Owen Sails.
